Ph.D. in Education Sciences (1991) and Full Professor at the University of Salamanca, affiliated with the Department of Didactics and IUCE. Her research focuses on educational innovation, digital competence in teacher training, and active methodologies. She is part of EduDIG and national networks such as RUTE, EDUTEC, REUNI+D, and RETINDE. Winner of the María de Maeztu Research Excellence Award, she holds six recognized research periods, with over 100 indexed articles, 50 book chapters, and 17 books. She coordinates the Ph.D. program “Education in the Knowledge Society” and research digital competence assessment.
Full Professor and Director of Internationalization and Transference at VRAIN, Universitat Politècnica de València. He leads the PROS research group on Software Production Methods. Holding a Ph.D. since 1992, he worked at HP Labs (UK), supervised 40 Ph.D. theses, and has an h-index of 54 with 13,000 citations. He developed the OASIS language and OO-METHOD, founding CARE Technologies and the IntegraNova tool. Former Chair of ER and CAiSE SCs. Awarded the 2016 Peter Chen Award, he currently leads a project on conceptual modeling for interpreting the Human Genome.
Pietro Manzoni is a Professor of Computer Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de València. He earned his M.Sc. in Milan (1989) and Ph.D. at Politecnico di Milano (1995). He conducted research at Bellcore Labs and ICSI Berkeley. His work focuses on mobile wireless networks and IoT, emphasizing LPWAN and Pub/Sub models. He explores TinyML for low-power edge intelligence and edge-cloud integration. His approach is experimental, based on prototypes and validation. He leads the GRC research group, is a senior IEEE member, and an active ACM SIGCAS (Computers and Society) member.
Born in Lugo (1964), he holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering (2000), with degrees in Philosophy and Knowledge Engineering. He was a postdoctoral researcher at BISC, University of California-Berkeley, under Lotfi Zadeh. His research focuses on fuzzy logic, soft computing, social network analysis, and artificial intelligence. Awarded several honors, including Madrid’s Environmental Research Prize (2002) and Best Paper at FUZZIEEE (2010), he is author of over 400 scientific works. In 2020, he was named Doctor Honoris Causa by UNLP (Argentina) and is a full member of the Academy of Social Sciences of Castilla-La Mancha.
